60 Shiite residents were taken hostage by Sunni militants in a town south of Baghdad today.
The militants have threatened to kill the hostages if the Shi'ites don't leave the town.
According to a VOANews article,
"A bomb explosion Saturday, at a restaurant in Baquba a town north of Baghdad, killed up to seven people, including at least two police officers.
Meanwhile, gunmen have killed one policeman and at least one Iraqi soldier in separate incidents in the city of Kirkuk."
Also a car bombing took place further north in Mosul damaging a U.S. military convoy.
