The past November Viktor Yushchenko was declared the winner of a nationwide presidential election, but voters took to the streets insisting that the voting was rigged.
Now, Ukraine's election is one step closer to being over. The country's election commission declared that Yushchenko won the presidential election. He did this with an eight point lead over his opponent, 52% of the vote.
Now the appeals window is getting smaller. The results must first be accepted by the Ukrainian High Court and then published in two official newspapers.
Then after it is all said and done… Yushchenko will be sworn into office wearing his signature orange scarf.
