Iran has finally agreed to allow UN nuclear inspectors take a look around a military site that the US thought to be a secret nuclear weapons site.
The Parchin complex will be part of the UN inspection into allegations that Iran has been involved with nuclear "weaponisation", the testing or assembling of a warhead and attaching it to a delivery system.
According to globalsecurity.org, a website run by a private Washington-based research group, Parchin is the centre of Iran's munitions industry.
According to Alertnet.org…
"We haven't stumbled on any weaponisation activities, although we are trying to visit the different sites, including military sites," Mohamed ElBaradei, head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), told Reuters in an interview.
"We visited a couple of them in the past and we are going to visit Parchin in the next few days or weeks," he said, adding that he was working out the details of the visit with Iran.
In a statement to reporters, Iran's top nuclear official, Hassan Rowhani, stated "Iran has never pursued the production of nuclear weapons and it will never do that".
I guess the truth behind the allegations will be found out sooner or later.
