Members from the Georgia Tech Information Security Center, BellSouth, and Internet Security Systems have teamed up to research VoIP security.

According to a vnunet article, they intend to conduct an analysis researching the following the issues:

- VoIP authentication for dealing with voice spam

- modelling of VoIP traffic and device behavior

- mobile phone security

- security of VoIP applications running on user agents
BellSouth and Internet Security Systems have contributed $300,000 to the project, which will see the two companies working with faculty and graduate students from Georgia Tech.
