The former vice president of McAfee's AVERT team has been hired by Microsoft as the general manager of Security Research & Response.

Vincent Gullotto, who departed McAfee earlier in the year will be responsible for security for the Windows operating system as well as other products, but is not part of the actual Microsoft Security Response Center according to ComputerWeekly.

Microsoft has not elaborated too much on exactly what Gullotto will be involved with, but he will probably be heavily involved with Vista security, and Microsoft's upcoming Forefront products.

Vista, by the way has just had some "fixes" released. Read Doug Caverly's article here for more details on that.
