Sophos has warned of another widespread bogus email containing a Trojan Horse.
This particular one has been disguised as a breaking news report that Silvio Berlusconi has been killed by an Israeli soldier.
The spam contains the Troj/Dloadr-ALM Trojan horse and contains a From line of "bbc.italy2006@bbc.com". There have been several subject lines used such as "Berlusconi la morte", "Berlusconi di terrorismo", "Berlusconi Tragedia", and "Berlusconi di omicidio".
Sophos provides a sample of what such an email would look like:
Latest BBC News: Berlusconi was killed by Israeli soldier, Lyvian terrorist.
''Fare politica significa realizzare cose concrete''
SOPPORTATO: 26 gennaio 1954 MORTO: 22 gennaio 2006
The email comes with a file attachment named necfotos.zip, which contains a malicious PIF file (silvio02.pif). Obviously you'll want to avoid opening the email.
