Another computer containing the personal data of United States veterans has gone missing.

The most recent incident has jeopardized the data of 38,000 veterans. Last time, it was 26.5 million. This time, Veterans Affairs Secretary Jim Nicholson has been asked to resign. Reuters reports:

Nicholson said Monday the department's inspector general, the FBI and local law enforcement "are conducting a thorough investigation" of the latest incident.

The subcontractor, the Unisys Corp., said a desktop computer was missing from its offices in Reston, Virginia outside Washington. Unisys was hired to assist in insurance collections for VA medical centers in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia.

This latest theft comes after the VA department promised to tighten its security. According to Reuters, the VA says that luckily this time the missing info is believed to be limited to veterans who were treated at two specific centers in Pennsylvania in the last four years.
