The Amsterdam-based online payment service has joined the HACKER SAFE world by picking up its certification from ScanAlert.
ChronoPay, a provider of secure and reliable Internet Payment Services, has obtained HACKER SAFE certification. This certification assures that ChronoPay's Website and services are automatically checked for any presence of cyber vulnerabilities.
E-commerce retailers, which enlist the online payment services of ChronoPay are covered by this certification, allowing them to display the HACKER SAFE logo on their payment pages. Presence of this logo provides added trust and confidence for online shoppers when visiting and making purchases.
According to research published by US-CERT (the government authority on Internet infrastructure protection) a total of 5198 software vulnerabilities were identified in 2005.
Every website where visitors are asked to key in personal information is a potential target for hackers and can greatly benefit from a daily security audit to identify the presence of cyber vulnerabilities. HACKER SAFE offers such security audits on computer systems and applications.
Ronnie Beernaert, Managing Director of ChronoPay said: "Guaranteeing the security of personal information is crucial for every e-commerce retailer that uses our payment services. The HACKER SAFE certification, which ChronoPay has obtained, provides enormous comfort for our merchants and has created a positive effect on customer conversions.
"We are delighted with the impact created by this certification," said Beernaert.
