The Gartner IT Security Summit 2006 is taking place in Washington D.C. today through Wednesday.
A session on how organizations can develop strategies and supporting tactics for responding to security incidents against ITsystems will be presented by SunGard's manager of information security professional services, Ron Schlecht.
"Security breaches are on the rise, threatening confidential information of business and consumers across the globe, and costing organizations millions of dollars per incident," says Schlecht.
Mr. Schlecht's presentation entitled "Laying the Appropriate Organizational and Procedural Groundwork for Effective Incident Response" will take place tomorrow at the Summit.
"Security incident response has historically been executed at the technical level within a company," said Schlecht. "From initial diagnosis to forensic examination, key business units and leaders must also be involved to work effectively and efficiently to bring issues to resolution."
SunGard says the session will examine steps necessary to develop a clear strategy for incident response, and will focus on business, technical and compliance issues.
