Symantec revealed today that its upcoming consumer PC security service, which until now has been codenamed "Genesis", will be called Norton 360.
Included in the package will be online identity theft protection, backup and PC tune-up capabilities. It will also take advantage of the Symantec Phish Report Network.
Symantec says that Norton 360 is only part of a broader vision the company has for the next generation of security, which is being referred to as Security 2.0.
The public beta version will become available this summer, and will include email and chat support. Customers are invited to sign up.
Norton 360 is expected to officially launch at the end of Symantec's fiscal year, depending on results of beta testing.
