IBM has launched three SOA appliances as a result of its acquisition of DataPower in October.
These three products are the WebSphere DataPower XML Security Gateway XS40, the WebSphere DataPower Integration Appliance X150, and the WebSphere DataPower Accelerator XA35.
SOA security appears to be a big focus-point for IBM since it acquired DataPower.
"In a rapidly evolving security landscape, businesses face a formidable yet critical challenge to comply with security regulations," said Mike Bilger, partner, Security and Privacy Services, IBM Global Services, IBM.
"As more clients begin to realize significant business value from an SOA, including reduced costs and increased revenue, implementing IT security will enable clients to grow the use of SOA across the enterprise so they can stay ahead of fast-changing market conditions," added Bilger.
According to a ZapThink analyst quoted by InformationWeek, the products have not undergone any major changes, aside from the re-branding.
