Microsoft is apparently not extremely worried about its Vista operating system being delayed as a result of the lawsuit from Symantec.

In case you haven't heard, last week Symantec decided to sue Microsoft for the use of Veritas volume management technology in Windows.

Microsoft had previously had a deal to use Veritas, but Symantec bought it for $10.2 billion last year, and says that Microsoft cannot use it. There has been speculation that the case will delay the release of Vista, which takes advantage of the technology.

When asked if he thought the case would have an effect on the release of Vista, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer has been quoted as saying "I wouldn't anticipate any, but that will go to the courts now."
