The Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) filed 3 separate lawsuits related to pirated software being sold through eBay.
These particular suits are the result of people selling pirated copies of software from Security giants Symantec and McAfee.
Among the pirated software being sold by at least 3 different individuals were Symantec's Norton SystemWorks 2005 Premier, Norton Ghost 9.0, Norton pcAnywhere 11.5 and Norton PartitionMagic 8.0, and McAfee's Virus Scan 9.0.
"The selling of pirated software, especially through online auction sites, is a growing problem that hurts both business and consumers, and threatens the credibility and viability of online auctions," said Keith Kupferschmid, VP of SIIA's Software Anti-Piracy Division.
The suits are related to the sale of these products on eBay between October and December of last year.
