You've probably heard of dogs being trained to detect drugs or explosives, but how about DVDs...
In an anti-piracy initiative led by the MPAA with the cooperation of the Federation Against Copyright Theft (FACT), dogs are being trained to do just that.
So far there are only two dogs working for the organizations, and they are both working at the Stansted Airport in the U.K.
More of a problem than the lack of DVD sniffing dogs, however, is the fact that the dogs can't tell the difference between legitimate DVDs and illegally copied ones. I can't believe there is a flaw in this idea.
All packages inspected as a result of the dogs have been perfectly legitimate - including no pirated DVDs.
