Information management and storage company EMC has acquired data replication and protection software provider Kashya.
The deal was for about $153 million, and Kashya will be integrated immediately into the EMC Software Group.
"Information protection is a chief concern for customers today," says EMC President Dave DeWalt. "By combining Kashya's rich portfolio of heterogeneous replication software with our industry leading virtualization and continuous data protection technologies, EMC is enhancing the market's broadest set of capabilities for virtualizing and safeguarding the world's information."
As a result of this acquisition, Kashya's data protection will be integrated with EMC Invista, and with future releases of EMC RecoverPoint software.
