Microsoft has released its Internet Explorer 7 browser in beta 2 form, and it comes equipped with new security features to improve on past versions.
Microsoft claims that IE 7 Beta 2 is a "major step forward in ease of use and security". According to the company,
Internet Explorer 7 helps keep your information safe by alerting you to potential phishing sites - sites that look legitimate but actually are designed to capture your personal information. It's also easier to see which sites provide secure data exchange, so you can shop and bank online with confidence.
Security badges indicate whether the site you are currently visiting is suspicious or a site known for phishing (capturing your personal or financial information). These badges come in the form of either a yellow shield with an exclamation mark on it or a red shield with an X on it.
It is clear when looking at the download page that Microsoft wants security to be at the forefront of the user's attention when deciding whether or not to use IE 7.
