A study conducted by Cisco Systems found that 72% of UK security professionals believe that their organizations are more secure than they were a year ago.
This includes plans in the event of disasters such as power failure, fire, data loss, flooding, etc.
100 chief security officers (CSOs) and IT directors were surveyed by Vanson Bourne. 80 - 90% of those surveyed said that their organizations have policies for email, password and acceptable usage, though only 59% had training in the need for backups.
"It is very encouraging to see that, despite ongoing reports of new threats and breaches, businesses across all sectors are feeling better protected," said Cisco Senior Security Advisor Paul King.
King will be presenting a security seminar on behalf of Cisco at Infosecurity Europe 2006, which will be taking place April 25th - 27th.
