In compliance with the country's laws, Skype text messages are being censored by the company's Chinese partner Tom Online.
Skype, which was acquired by eBay last year, has been criticized for the censorship, but CEO Niklas Zennstrom says basically that when running a business, you have to comply with a country's laws whether you agree or disagree with them.
Zennstrom also made the point that every other company in the market is doing the same thing because it is part of the regulations.
Along with the United States and Germany, China is one of Skype's top three markets.
