Adobe, makers of wonderful software, including Photoshop, posted a bulletin regarding the image software. It seems a problem with McAfee VirusScan 8.0i crept up and it's affecting Photoshop CS2 dramatically.
A hat tip goes to the BugBlog for picking up on this one. The problem is text is missing in buttons, menus, or the registration window in Adobe Photoshop CS2. This issue would cause significant problems operating the software. Adobe has suggested three solutions however:
Solution 1: Patch McAfee VirusScan 8.0i to Patch Version 10.
Solution 2: Disable the Buffer Overflow function in McAfee VirusScan.
Solution 3: Exclude Photoshop CS2 from Windows Data Execution Prevention (DEP).
Adobe has more information available from their site. Keep in mind this problem only occurs on Windows.
