Australian skier and Olympic Gold Medalist Dale Begg-Smith also looks to be a first-rate spyware distributor. The site StopScum.com put together the information discussing Begg-Smith and his brother and their background because the only thing they do as well as skiing is spyware.
Begg-Smith and his brother Jason are self-made millionaires and both are world-class skiers. His brother just missed qualifying for the Olympic team. According to StopScum.com though, they didn't make their money on skis:
You can run but you can't hide. If you fail to answer reporters questions in a candid and detailed manner, lots of folks will poke around and discover your checkered past. You may have won an Olympic Gold Medal, Mr. Dale Begg-Smith who runs/ran AdsCPM, but your checkered past is back to haunt you.
They said all this started when the owner of the GeekVillage Forums began doing some digging after recognizing their names. Apparently, Begg-Smith was a member of the forums and has since been banned, although his comments are still readable.
It's unusual for spyware folks to be quite this high profile and there's a legitimate shot Begg-Smith and his brother could be prosecuted. They've avoided talking much about how they made their fortunes but it will be interesting to see where this story leads.
