An upcoming summit in Iraq focusing on a variety of issues will cover a lot of ground in the struggling country. The Iraq Security, Technology & Communications Summit will bring in minister, deputies and director generals from the Iraqi Ministries of Defense, Interior, Communications, Science and Tech, along with the Iraqi National Security Council.
As Iraq begins to reestablish and re-assert its presence in the world, it will be ripe for things like computer fraud and hacking and as well as many other threats to their security. This conference will address many of those issues.
Each ministry has a set of priority assignments and will be using the event to determine the best partners and suppliers to implement key contracts and projects. Many of the worlds leading companies will be present at the event, including Boeing, General Dynamics, Nortel, Microsoft, GE, Halliburton, MCI, Motorola, Armor Group and General Motors.
While many of these companies are not necessarily computer based, they are all integral to maintaining security, particularly since even defense contracting companies are not immune to hacks. As Iraq rebuilds some of its infrastructure, they will must have secure networks and hopefully, this conference will allow them to address those problems.
