Microsoft announced their monthly patch release for September has been delayed because of quality concerns. The release, slated for Tuesday, September 13, 2005 contained a high priority security release and they've not announced a new date.
Microsoft said:
Late in the testing process, Microsoft encountered a quality issue that necessitated the update to go through additional testing and development before it is released. Microsoft is committed to only releasing high quality updates that fix the issue(s) in question, and therefore we feel it is in the best interest of our customers to not release this update until it undergoes further testing.
This is pretty significant because of the critical rating of the update. Microsoft still plans on doing the webcast on Wednesday but there will be very limited information in the security update.
