Today, McAfee announced the launch of its MAX Configurator, which is an online configuration tool for recommending the most appropriate anti-virus and secure content management solution for the customer's environment.
The MAX Configurator is currently available to partners in North America, and will soon be available in Europe, the Middle East and Africa as well. According to a press release,
The availability of the MAX Configurator will support the launch of the McAfee Secure Content Management (SCM) family of appliances enabling partners to more easily configure and quote their customers an SCM appliance solution.
Based on McAfee's suggested selling tips for migrating existing appliance customers to the new McAfee Secure Web Gateway (SWG), Secure Internet Gateway (SIG) and Secure Messaging Gateway (SMG) appliances, and for determining the most appropriate appliance for companies seeking an SCM solution; the MAX Configurator reduces the sales cycle time and eliminates the need for technical support from a sales engineer. In addition to supporting the appliances launch, the MAX configurator provides assistance with complex anti-virus cross-grade and upgrade configurations, and supports SKU and price look up for the McAfee IntruShield, Entercept and Foundstone product portfolios.
"Delivering additional sales tools that have been designed to improve partners' transactional experiences has been a primary commitment during 2005," said David Roberts, senior vice president, North American Channels at McAfee, Inc.
"We have focused a tremendous amount of resources and budget to ensure that out partners can easily transact business with us, and believe that the MAX Configurator will aid them in selling the recently announced SCM appliances," added Roberts.
With MAX Configurator, solution providers can configure a customized SCM appliance that meets the specific needs of their customers and prospects in a matter of minutes, the company says.
