National employment screening leader OPENonline LLC announced the launch of its new, comprehensive, online national Identity Verification Report that now gives employers a quick, easy and cost effective tool to learn if an applicant is presenting their true identity.
The OPENonline Identity Verification Report will instantly determine if an applicant's reported social security number was in fact issued by the Social Security Administration and, if so, when and where it was issued. The Identity Verification Report will also provide the name and related address history of anyone using or linked to that social security number as well as reporting if the number has been associated with a death benefit claim.
"OPENonline's new Identity Verification Report is the first to combine in-depth fraud-detection information into a single, concise online tool that remains compliant with federal consumer protection regulations to help employers quickly determine if they have a reason to be concerned about an applicant's truthfulness," says Traci Couts, OPENonline's director of sales and marketing.
"With identity theft clearly on the rise, verifying that an applicant is who he or she claims to be is not an option, it's a necessity," said Couts. "We see the Identity Verification Report as the critical first step in all pre-employment background screenings as it provides a firm decision point to either move forward with the remaining steps in the company's screening process or move on to the next applicant. The ability to make instant 'go/no go' decisions helps improve the efficiency of an employment screening while contributing to lower overall program costs."
