Stonesoft annoucned that it has made significant enhancements to the StoneGate Platform, which connects firewall, VPN, and IPS under a single, centralized management system.

The new version of the StoneGate Platform allows administrators to monitor their security environment and spot problem areas in a single glance by displaying status information for the security system nodes as part of the network layout diagrams. Also, the customizable live reporting of statistical information provides users with a visual overview of data and supplies instant feedback about the security system's performance. This feature makes it possible for administrators to spot short-term trends and enables them to react before problems occur. IT Administrators are also able to use this reporting tool to retrieve and analyze long-term trends from statistical data.
Another critical enhancement is an advanced blacklisting feature, which allows administrators to configure IPS to dynamically change the firewall's security policy based on detected and identified threats.
