Preventsys Appoints New CFO

Enterprise security management company Preventsys Inc. announced that Scott Smull has been named chief financial officer.
Smull brings nearly 30 years of finance experience to Preventsys, including controlling, contract management, venture capital fundraising and corporate financial leadership, as well as extensive experience leading software companies through various stages of double digit growth.
"Scott's experience and leadership in all aspects of finance will help ensure Preventsys' strong momentum continues and is supported by solid operational systems," said Tom Rowley, chief executive officer of Preventsys. "His proven success financially leading a prior company to 300 percent quarter to quarter revenue growth in a single year is impressive and we are confident that Scott's financial expertise will guide our firm as we continue to make innovations in IT security management and automated compliance reporting."
In his role, Smull will call on his financial experience in the technology sector to direct Preventsys' growth, oversee company financial operations, and assist with venture capital fundraising.
"The IT security industry is on the cusp of a huge growth spurt, and Preventsys has proven they are a true innovator in the industry -- that's why I am so excited to be on board," said Smull. "My goal is to ensure that all company financial matters are proactively addressed through various stages of growth to allow Preventsys to focus exclusively on developing its information security management technologies and provide exceptional service to our Fortune 500 customers."
Most recently, Smull served as CFO at DispenseSource, where he played an integral role on the executive team overseeing finance, contracting, operations and venture-capital financing. Smull's leadership helped the company manage growth in revenues of three-fold and reach first months of profitability.
Prior to DispenseSource, Smull served as CFO at PurePulse Technologies, Linkabit Wireless, and ComStream Corp. He has successfully secured private capital, guided a company through initial public offering, completed several M & A transactions and negotiated global alliances while managing and directing all financial and accounting functions.
