iMedica was awarded U.S. Patent No. 6,874,085B1 for the data security system used in its PhysicianSuite electronic medical record and the upcoming iMedica Patient Relationship Manager 2005.
As the patent states, iMedica's security design and method "ensure patient confidentiality while allowing patient medical records to be accessed over a network such as the Internet."
Through iMedica.NET, the company offers its clients secure, HIPAA-compliant data backup and "Anytime, Anywhere Access" over an Internet connection. iMedica's patented data storage technology ensures that its clients' information is secure, safe, and always accessible.
CEO Michael Nissenbaum says, "Our 'Anytime, Anywhere Access' has always been recognized as an important strength of iMedica software. We are pleased that the value and uniqueness of our data security feature have been recognized with this patent. It's another demonstration that iMedica is technologically in front of the pack."
Data security is a critical issue for physician practices who need to have fast, complete access to their patients' records and still comply with strict regulations governing confidentiality. The PhysicianSuite EMR and iMedica Patient Relationship Manager 2005, which will be released in summer 2005, both use iMedica's patented data security design to provide reliable security along with Anytime, Anywhere Access.
