id-Confirm announced it had filed a new U.S. patent application relating to the integration of non-specific biometric identification devices into its integrated identification, authentication, and security system.
The application covers use of portable devices that biometrically identify the user and communicate and compare that information with a non-biometrically stored identification methodology.
The application further, and most importantly, encompasses the storage, retrieval, parsing, and comparison of the authentication information using a multiplex of geographically dispersed authentication centers. The unparalleled security offered by the synchronous operation of geographically dispersed authentication centers is, in id-Confirm's opinion, an important facet in the ever-increasing battle against computer information hacking, theft of identity information, and fraudulent use of another's identity.
Additional patents are planned for filing, covering specific processes in which id-Confirm's process and products can be employed. Since early February, the Company has discussed and demonstrated the use of its process to such disparate interested parties as protection of governmental buildings, protection of military installations, border control and crossings, manufacturing process control, procurement chain accountability, and prison and jail uses.
