Telewest Global today announced a long term agreement with Zero-Knowledge Systems (ZKS) to provide comprehensive Internet security tools to its blueyonder broadband customers.
In a recent survey 74% of blueyonder customers said they were worried about Internet security and 41% said that they would be happy to pay for Internet security tools for increased peace of mind.(1)
Eric Tveter, President and Chief Operating Officer of Telewest Global, Inc. said: "ZKS' products will provide Telewest customers with the most comprehensive online security service available from any UK ISP. Secure Internet access for our customers is of vital importance to Telewest and we believe this new security offering 'will provide significant added value for our existing subscribers and a strong incentive for other broadband users to switch to blueyonder."
ZKS' managed security services platform will be known as "blueyonder PCguard". It will minimise the possibility of virus attacks, intrusion by hackers and prevent annoying pop up advertisements, providing customers with a safe and secure online environment when it is launched later this year. No other UK ISP will provide such a complete security service to its customers.
Hamnett Hill, President and CEO of ZKS, said: "Internet security is a rapid growth driver for ISPs in the UK market, and a big concern for subscribers. To deliver the security services customers want while deploying, supporting and managing them profitably requires a managed services platform. Telewest knows this, and has made a smart choice for its bottom line and its subscribers by selecting ZKS for blueyonder PCguard. Telewest can deliver security to subscribers today and then add a wide range of cost effective new services that offer subscribers a better Internet experience."
