PGP Desktop 9.0 Features New Full Disk Encryption, Secure Instant Messaging, Automatic Key Lookup via PGP Global Directory, Multiple Language Versions.

PGP Corporation, a global leader in enterprise encryption solutions, today announced immediate public beta availability of a new version of its award-winning PGPDesktop encryption solution. The completely redesigned PGP Desktop 9.0 incorporates PGP Universal technology to provide automatic encryption, decryption, digital signatures, verification, and recipient key look-up, making it appropriate for both novice and power users. New features in PGP Desktop 9.0 include full disk encryption and AOL Instant Messenger traffic security, S/MIME interoperability, and expanded smart card support. The beta is available in English, German, and Japanese versions.

"We are pleased to release this beta of a new version of our PGP Desktop product," said Doug McLean, vice president of products for PGP Corporation. "We expect a great deal of expert and technical feedback from PGP users. We especially look forward to feedback on the German and Japanese beta versions, which are also being released today."

The PGP Desktop 9.0 public beta is available for download from the PGP website.

PGP Managed Beta Programs allow participants to test advanced functionality of PGP beta software in complex network environments. A PGP Managed Beta is currently available for PGP Universal 2.0, the newest release of this award-winning, server-based encryption solution.

A PGP Managed Beta is also available for PGP Global Directory, the verified public keyserver that will replace the current PGP Keyserver hosted by PGP Corporation.
