SafeNet's SafeEnterprise SSL iGate gateway received certification from the Virtual Private Network Consortium (VPNC) for its real-world usability.
The VPNC has extended its interoperability program to include SSL security, and is issuing two new logo programs-- the SSL Portal and SSL Exchange Logos. SafeNet is one of the first nine companies to recently receive these additional logos for its SSL iGate.
SafeNet's SafeEnterprise SSL iGate was required to pass specific test criteria, such as making secure connections to corporate Internet portals and providing support for Microsoft's Outlook Web Access messaging software. With an unparalleled degree of client-side security checking, as well as its tight integration with SafeNet's iKey USB token for two-factor authentication and support of the most popular authentication servers, the iGate holds a unique place in the SSL market.
"SSL technology is having a significant impact on business and consumer applications, and we are excited to see VPNC move to the forefront in offering greater assurance in security for our customers. VPNC has helped lead the IPSec market to a place where products are interoperable and easier to use, and now they are initiating this trend for the fast-growing SSL market," said Chris Fedde, Senior Vice President and General Manager for SafeNet's Enterprise Security Division. "SafeNet is dedicated to offering a wide array of security solutions to our customers, and SSL security is an area where we see growth for many types of applications."
"We are excited to see SafeNet continue in our logo certification program. They have been a long-time member of VPNC, and continue to be an important player in the security industry by offering leading-edge solutions that are useable for customers, as well as interoperable with other leading vendors' products," said Paul Hoffman, Director of VPNC.
