StillSecure has joined the Network Admission Control (NAC) Program, an industry effort initiated and led by Cisco Systems.
StillSecure will integrate Safe Access, the company's endpoint security compliance solution, with NAC components such as the Cisco Trust Agent and Cisco Secure Access Control Server (ACS).
Through this integration, Safe Access will add extensive policy compliance and enforcement features to a NAC-enabled infrastructure, helping to ensure that the applications and services running on endpoint devices are up-to-date and free of worms, viruses, Trojans, P2P and other potentially damaging software.
The NAC program is an industry-wide effort started by Cisco Systems that uses the network infrastructure to enforce security policy compliance on all devices seeking to access network computing resources, thereby limiting damage from viruses and worms.
"StillSecure Safe Access is still the only truly agent-less solution for endpoint security compliance and enforcement," said Mitchell Ashley, CTO of StillSecure. "With our participation in NAC, customers deploying network admission control capabilities in their network will be able to use Safe Access to test for compliance with their organization's security policies, working to quarantine non-compliant machines before they damage the network."
"The planned StillSecure Safe Access integration with NAC technology will offer our customers an extensible, customizable solution for ensuring their networks are not damaged by infected endpoint devices," said Mario Bai, President and CEO of Straticom. "Safe Access offers businesses added flexibility, control and protection for their networks. Not only does it test for compliance with an organization's security policy, but it also checks to make sure that devices are free of any worms, Trojans, or viruses that may be inadvertently launched into the network."
Safe Access protects the network by helping to ensure that endpoint devices are free from threats and in compliance with your IT security standards. Safe Access systematically tests endpoint devices -- without the use of a client or agent -- for compliance with organizational security policies, quarantining non-compliant machines before they damage the network.
"Network Admission Control enables organizations to reduce risk by preventing vulnerable endpoints from obtaining and retaining normal network access," said Russell Rice, director of product marketing in Cisco's Security Technology Group. "To help achieve comprehensive protection, we encourage cooperation with technology vendors like StillSecure -- their involvement in the NAC effort is an important component to the program's success."
