Infonet Services Corporation announced new additions to its managed security services portfolio.

Thes include four new firewall options and a number of new layered security services to help enterprises eliminate risks resulting from employee use of the Internet.

Developed to ensure the highest level of network security for clients with varying security needs, Infonet now offers an updated range of managed firewall services with application layer security controls and protection for corporate sites of any size.

"Inappropriate use of the corporate network is a critical area of security concern for businesses today," commented Jason Wright, program leader, Security Technologies for Frost & Sullivan. "It touches on compliance, productivity, network security and overall corporate reputation. Services that address this growing concern are an important part of a complete enterprise security strategy."

Infonet's upgraded managed firewall (MFW) security controls are specifically aimed at a new generation of threats caused by employee use of the Internet and include: MFW Instant Message Control, MFW URL Filtering and Blocking, MFW Advanced Reporting and Dynamic Access, and MFW Virus Scanning.

In addition to the layered security application services above, Infonet has upgraded all aspects of its core managed firewall services on which these services are delivered. Upgrades include co-location options and a new high availability (dual firewall) solution available for all Infonet Managed Firewall Services, including: Network Firewall Service, Premises Firewall Lite & Premises Firewall Unlimited, and Branch Office Firewall Service

"These new application services effectively address a growing class of enterprise security concerns," said Martin Dipper, vice president of Security Services for Infonet. "When coupled with our numerous Managed Firewall options, multinationals have a flexible, scaleable option for protecting each of their network sites according to their individual security needs."
