NEC Unified Solutions will highlight products and services designed to support state and local officials responsible for homeland security at the All Hazards Forum of the Mid-Atlantic Technology Conference and Exhibition.
This will be held December 1st - 2nd, at the Baltimore Convention Center in Baltimore, Maryland.
Located in Booth #823, NEC will showcase a complete suite of advanced security solutions that provide protection for all configurations of communications architecture, including emergency operation center programs for wired networks as well as enhanced messaging support and routing for wireless and mobile communications. Critical professional and managed services will also be highlighted in the booth such as rigorous security assessments, dedicated network monitoring, and performance analysis and reporting. To fully demonstrate its comprehensive offerings for security, disaster recovery planning and preparation, NEC will demonstrate and display biometric identification tools, surveillance solutions, and continuous availability servers that ensure security planners have the ability to rapidly respond and recover whenever necessary.
Mark Nagiel, Manager of Security Consulting, will deliver a presentation on Wednesday, December 1st at 10:30 a.m. that will provide the audience with a model for developing robust information security programs including policy control and management, auditing, security monitoring strategies and "soft" controls for managing data risk.
"Today, more than ever, guaranteeing security from a myriad of threats is a top concern for regional government and municipal agencies," said Tom Burger, CEO, NEC Unified Solutions, Inc. "Our participation in the All Hazards Forum of the 2004 Mid-Atlantic Technology Conference demonstrates NEC's commitment to providing customers with the best tools available for preparation and disaster response. Security planners demand the most effective security and communications systems available, which is why we place a premium on providing solutions that meet the highest levels of performance and reliability."
Also at the conference, Brooks McChesney, founder and CEO of Vidient Systems, Inc., a developer of video surveillance behavior recognition software, will be available to discuss Vidient's SmartCatch video surveillance software. SmartCatch, a technology originally developed by NEC Laboratories, takes advantage of patent-pending video algorithm technology to strengthen and enhance organizations' existing video surveillance infrastructure with complex behavioral analysis designed to identify and alert officials in real-time to security threats. Used today to monitor secure locations at major international airports including SFO, San Diego and Salt Lake City, corporations and public institutions, a demonstration of the SmartCatch software will be available at Booth #823.
