Symantec At E-Gov Conference

Two Symantec security experts will speak at the E-Gov Institute's Information Assurance Conference, Dec. 1-2, at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, D.C.
In its fifth year, the E-Gov Institute's Information Assurance Conference is designed as a forum for government and commercial industry experts supporting information security programs in the public sector.
On Wednesday, Dec. 1, Enrique Salem, Symantec's senior vice president of network and gateway security solutions, will moderate a panel discussion titled "Combating Spam, Viruses and Emerging Online Threats." The panel discussion will take place from 1:15 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. ET. Panelists will describe strategies for mitigating e-mail based security threats and other risks to sensitive information.
On Thursday, Dec. 2, Tony Cole, Symantec's director of critical infrastructure protection programs, will participate in a panel discussion titled "Critical Elements of a Successful IT Security Program." The panel discussion will take place from 9:45 a.m. to 11 a.m. ET. Participants in the session will outline key technologies, strategies and processes for maintaining both the security and availability of critical IT assets.
