Determina launched its SecureCore 2.0 product which is built on Determina's Memory Firewall, which blocks mass worm attacks at their point of entry.
Determina's technology stops known and Zero Day worms in their tracks by preventing them from executing in memory before they can cause damage and spread. This latest release brings an unprecedented level of protection to enterprise networks with new capabilities for centralized deployment, management and reporting. It enables enterprises to rest assured that their business will never again suffer the impact of mass worm attacks such as Code Red, Blaster, and Sasser.
"With locations on six continents, worms have the potential to significantly impact our operations. Every security system we've evaluated provides only partially addresses stopping crippling worm attacks," said James Cupps, Information Security Officer, Sappi Fine Paper, N.A. "Determina is an integral piece of a comprehensive strategy to stop worms and other computer attacks before they can effect our systems. It is a proactive solution that blocks known and unknown mass worm attacks before they can compromise our applications and damage our servers."
Worms represent a critical threat to enterprise network security. The speed of their propagation can render networks unavailable due to the traffic they generate, and they are often designed to compromise mission-critical information. The International Computer Science Institute estimates that a "worst-case" worm could do $50 billion in damage in the U.S. alone by attacking widely used services in Microsoft Windows.
"The reality of network security today is that intrusion detection and prevention systems can't block what they don't know to look for, and worms spread far faster than network administrators can update threat signatures," said Nand Mulchandani, CEO, Determina. "The key to thwarting worms is to prevent them from executing and damaging networks. SecureCore 2.0 prevents execution of even a single line of malicious code when worms reach protected endpoint devices, insulating enterprises from information loss and downtime."
