Time Warner Cable entered an agreement with Computer Associates International (CA) to offer CA's eTrust EZ Armor antivirus, and firewall software to protect Road Runner Business Class customers' computers.
The agreement also includes a specially-designed version of CA's forthcoming anti-spam technology for consumers. For those using Road Runner Business Class solutions, this software will be offered at no cost and there will be no limitation on the number of users.
"Time Warner Cable sees data security as being so important, we've made an investment on behalf of our business customers," said Ken Fitzpatrick, senior vice president, Time Warner Cable Commercial Services. "Most companies have network security, but may overlook the importance of security on each individual PC, a mistake especially when users go off-network. Road Runner Business Class Personal Security Suite adds another important layer of protection."
The agreement enables Road Runner Business Class customers to use CA's EZ Armor antivirus and firewall desktop security suite at no charge for as long as they subscribe to Road Runner Business Class. The product combines award-winning antivirus technology with industrial-strength firewall protection. CA's eTrust EZ Armor is designed to dramatically improve the safety of an employee's PC and greatly limit the proliferation of Internet threats.
"Effective, easy-to-use security is vital to support business broadband users," said George Kafkarkou, senior vice president of CA's worldwide channel operations. "That's why Time Warner Cable is making this a priority for its Road Runner Business Class customers."
