Symantec and MX Logic announced a managed email defense service, which enables businesses to reduce bandwidth and storage costs.
It requires no additional hardware or software outlays and allows for service activation within one business day.
Integrating Symantec Brightmail AntiSpam 6.0 with the MX Logic Email Defense Service provides comprehensive managed email security at the network perimeter and delivers industry-leading spam detection accuracy. The solution is now available through MX Logic's sales channels as part of two MX Logic Email Defense Service packages -- MX Ultimate Defense and MX Critical Defense.

Symantec Brightmail AntiSpam 6.0 combats spam using multiple filters that include non-English language filters, reputation filtering, signatures, and URL filters, and is backed by Symantec's Probe Network of over two million spam traps in 20 countries.
Symantec's Brightmail AntiSpam 6.0 is the leading solution in the market and includes statistical filtering, reputation analysis, proprietary heuristics, industry heuristics, URL filtering and reputation-based real-time black hole lists. MX Logic's Stacked Classification Framework, now including Symantec Brightmail AntiSpam, is a multi-layered spam detection system that combines powerful spam-fighting techniques to successfully block spam and minimize false positives by leveraging a sophisticated end-user quarantine. Working within the Framework, these multiple spam filters deliver industry-leading spam detection by separately assessing and "voting" on the probability that a specific email is spam.

Both packages include: email attack protection, fraud protection, content and attachment filtering, triple virus and worm scanning, inbound message filtering and sophisticated email threat quarantine for administrators and end users. The MX Ultimate Defense service package also includes outbound message filtering and the MX Logic FailSafe Disaster Recovery Service that provides complete back-up protection for business email servers in the event of an outage or malfunction.
