NTT DoCoMo will provide consumers with McAfeeVirusScan Content Scanning technology.
This was jointly developed with NTT DoCoMo, as a built-in service on the new FOMA901i series 3G mobile phones.
The built-in McAfee VirusScan technology in the FOMA mobile phones is a market-first in the mobile device arena, designed to provide protection against future mobile threats.
"The recent discovery of worms like 'Cabir' demonstrate the need for security solutions specifically designed to protect consumers from harmful mobile viruses," said Victor Kouznetsov, senior vice president of McAfee Mobile Solutions. "McAfee's continuing partnership with NTT DoCoMo allows us to leverage our joint strengths to develop solutions for mobile handsets, while also validating our goal to protect all consumers -- both PC and wireless users -- from security threats."
"NTT DoCoMo has always designed its mobile phones with extra attention paid to security, and as such NTT DoCoMo's mobile phones have been safe and secure.
