McAfee Releases Internet Security Suite 2005

McAfee announced the retail release of McAfee Internet Security Suite 2005 (MIS), the all-inclusive set of McAfee's top-of-the-line security and privacy solutions for home users.
MIS 2005 includes the latest versions of McAfee VirusScan, McAfee Personal Firewall Plus, McAfee Privacy Service and McAfee SpamKiller to put comprehensive and proactive cyber protection in the hands of home users. MIS 2005 uses a layered security approach to help home users protect their families and home systems against viruses, hackers, spam, phishing scams and other threats that can lead to identity theft. The 2005 suite features a new user interface with streamlined access, enhanced email scanning, improved spyware detection and removal and advanced worm protection to help stop virus-like worms from using a home user's PC to spread themselves.
MIS 2005 also features exclusive integration with Hackerwatch.org, a proactive resource for home users to report and share information about hacker activity in an effort to help authorities identify cyber criminals. Additionally, the 2005 Suite offers protection against instant messaging threats for customers using the AOL, Yahoo!, or Microsoft messaging platforms.

Other McAfee Internet Security Suite 2005 highlights include the following:
Email Scanning now more efficiently handles today's larger file sizes (e.g., MP3s, digital photos, PowerPoint presentations) and automatically scans inbound (POP3) and outbound (SMTP) email and email attachments for most popular email clients.
Spyware Detection and Removal now quickly detects and helps delete potentially unwanted programs (PUPs), such as key-loggers, Web dialers, adware pop-ups and snooping programs that can rob personally identifiable information or slow Web surfing.
New User Interface now provides streamlined access with a new look and feel.
Advanced Worm Protection now helps stop virus-like worms from using the user's PC to spread themselves.
Intelligent Application Handling automatically denies outbound Internet access to suspected malicious applications that might secretly transmit personal data to hackers, while allowing trusted programs to connect without unnecessary alerts or false alarms.
Setup Assistant provides simple, step-by-step instructions to help install protection in just minutes, even for beginners.
Invisible Text & Image Filtering now zeroes in on colorless content and telltale code inside image-only or image-heavy e-mails that spammers use to evade anti-spam engines.
Intentional Misspelling Filtering helps stop spam with camouflaged content, e.g., m0rtga.ge in place of mortgage.
Whitelisting enables the user to immediately "rescue all" blocked messages from the same sender or from a newly added friend.
