F-Secure announced today that Insight Communications Company, one of the top-10 cable providers in the U.S., has selected and deployed F-Secure's Personal Express hosted security software and services.

Insight entered into a partnership with F-Secure, by which the two companies have created a co-branded web-shop at the Insight Communications website where their broadband Internet customers can purchase anti-virus and intrusion prevention software and update services from F-Secure. The security solutions are available to Insight customers now.

"We were looking for an easy way to let our broadband customers add features like anti-virus, spam control, parental control and firewall functionality," said Bryan Smith, Vice President of broadband and telephone service at Insight Communications. "We chose F-Secure's hosted service because we were able to have the eStore and co-branded software set up and ready to offer to our customers in just three weeks. F-Secure also maintains and upgrades the security software for our customers once they've installed it, so they don't need to worry ever again about being protected from the latest virus attacks or spam schemes backed by their award-winning antivirus lab."

Insight rolled out the F-Secure security services in July 2004 to its 1.3 million customers, offering four different protection levels and pricing plans:

-- Basic -- Antivirus + Firewall for $39.95 per year

-- Antivirus, Firewall + Spam Control for $57.90 per year

-- Antivirus, Firewall + Parental Control for $57.90 per year

-- Advanced -- Full Suite for $64.95 per year

With the addition of Insight Communications, F-Secure now hosts security software for 26 ISPs around the world.

"We're helping to make email and the Internet safer by giving everybody easy access to the software and services they need to protect themselves from viruses, spam and inappropriate content," said Travis Witteveen, vice president of U.S. operations for F-Secure. "We make it really easy. Small businesses and consumers don't always have the time or expertise to manage and update their own computer security software, so we do it for them."
