SSH Communications Security released new versions of its SSH Tectia solution, featuring a new pricing model designed to make powerful enterprise security more cost-effective for entry-level customers, and two new packages designed specifically for secure business application and system administration protection.
The new version of SSH Tectia Server makes it easier for large enterprises to begin protecting their corporate business applications using SSH Tectia without any desktop software investments. It is designed to work exclusively with SSH Tectia Connector, the client software that is completely transparent to the user and enables business application protection without any user intervention. When SSH Tectia is used to protect a single business application, SSH Tectia Connector licenses will be provided free of charge.
This new pricing model enables customers to start with a small number of applications and expand their licenses as their business needs grow. In addition, this feature provides the flexibility to help companies more quickly comply with the new and evolving compliance requirements, such as SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley), GLBA (Gramm Leach Bliley Act ) and HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act), without requiring additional upfront fees.
The second targeted version of SSH Tectia Server is designed for secure system administration, enabling system administrators to remotely administer application servers and other resources using a secure connection. With this system, IT Security Administrators can manage dispersed resources without fear that the system administration infrastructure will itself become compromised.
"Secure business applications and system administration protection are two key areas where the power and flexibility of SSH Tectia are essential," said Arto Vainio, CEO of SSH Communications Security. "We have designed the SSH Tectia solution to make these critical forms of protection attractive to a wider range of customers, meeting their critical business needs."
Additional Features
Additional new features that have been incorporated in this new version include:
-- Windows domain authentication in heterogeneous environments -- this key new capability eliminates the need for separate authentication in multiple operating system environments, enhancing end-user transparency
-- Remote Authentication Dial-In User Service (RADIUS) support -- this popular protocol used for authentication, authorization and accounting in many large enterprises via dial-up, VPN and wireless network access is now supported under SSH Tectia
-- Nested tunnel support -- this key new feature enables greater flexibility in providing end-to-end security for remote users accessing multiple complex applications
-- New monitoring and reporting tools will allow improved compliance reporting and license management of the SSH Tectia solution
Pricing and Availability
SSH Tectia Server, Client and Connector 4.2 and SSH Tectia Manager 1.3 will be available to customers in mid-November. Pricing will vary depending on the number and type of applications supported and the number of clients. Contact your SSH Sales professional, or go to SSH.com for more information.
