NFR Security releases Sentivist IPS 500F, an all-in-one, integrated fiber-optic network sensor designed to maintain the integrity of their customers' networks.
The Sentivist IPS 500F sensor uses leading edge technology to monitor fiber environments giving customers the flexibility of choosing two different deployment options - fail open or fail closed - in the event that a power outage occurs.
"We have seen tremendous growth in the fiber-optic marketplace, and NFR Security has taken great strides to improve our Sentivist prevention offering to address the security needs of our fiber-based customers," said Andre Yee, president and CEO of NFR Security. "The Sentivist IPS 500F sensor is an all-in-one, integrated solution which empowers our customers to make network security decisions based on their businesses' needs, without having to deal with multiple devices and multiple points of failure."
NFR Security offers Sentivist IPS for both copper and fiber environments. To date, many network security companies have had fail-open and fail-closed capabilities for copper environments only. Preferred by large enterprises with high volume networks, fiber optic deployments offer greater network speed.
When a power outage occurs, Sentivist IPS 500F customers can choose fail-open mode to preserve their networks by allowing all traffic through. This mode ensures traffic continuity and that all important information and data is received by the customer. In fail-closed mode, the network is severed and all communication is halted. This mode is useful in preventing any network corruption from occurring, such as virus and worm attacks, while the system is down.
The Sentivist IPS 500F sensor is a newly added model to the Sentivist IPS product family. Sentivist IPS combines a unique patent pending Confidence Indexing technology with fine-tuned control mechanisms in the Sentivist Enterprise Console to give customers a needed level of trust in deploying prevention systems on their networks. The Confidence Indexing feature of Sentivist IPS gives NFR customers the ability to measure threats and drop traffic based their predetermined confidence level of attack diagnosis.
