McAfee First Intrusion Prevention Provider to Protect Enterprises, SMBs and Consumers from Known and Unknown Threats and Attacks.

McAfee expands its portfolio of IntruShield products with the release of the McAfee IntruShield 1400 IPS sensor designed to proactively protect small and midsize businesses (SMBs), individual branches and enterprise perimeter deployments from all types of network security threats. McAfee is the first intrusion prevention (IPS) provider to protect organizations of all sizes, enterprises, SMBs and consumers, and continues to provide best-of-breed, flexible and cost effective IPS solutions.

The McAfee IntruShield solution continues to expand platform and technology support to enable customers to effectively block and prevent network anomalies in quicker time-to-resolution, and provides the necessary tools required for seamless integration into existing infrastructures. The introduction of IntruShield 1400 underscores the company's commitment to anticipate and deliver leading-edge, next-generation network intrusion prevention solutions for customers.

McAfee is the only provider of intrusion prevention solutions in the industry serving all major customer segments, including enterprises, SMBs and consumers. McAfee IntruShield network IPS and Entercept host IPS deliver unparalleled proactive protection against known and zero-day attacks, while McAfee VirusScan redefines next-generation anti-virus by integrating intrusion prevention technology into a single anti-virus solution.

"As the worldwide market share leader for in-line network intrusion prevention, McAfee is extending the benefits of our critical, next-generation technology to the mid-sized customer," said Vimal Solanki, director of product marketing for McAfee, Inc. "Through IntruShield 1400, small-to-medium businesses and enterprise branch offices can keep their networks proactively protected from today's threats by employing the most comprehensive IPS products available."

McAfee IntruShield 1400 extends the McAfee IntruShield family of products -- also including the IntruShield 4000, 2600 and 1200 sensors -- that offers award-winning network intrusion prevention with a robust feature set to deliver unmatched intrusion detection and real-time intrusion prevention in a single purpose-built appliance. The new product's capabilities include performance up to 200 Mbps, four 10/100 fast Ethernet detection ports, fail- over capability for high availability network deployments; remote web-based management; detection and blocking of a broad range of peer-to-peer traffic, such as KaZaa and various instant messaging applications; as well as lowest total cost-of-ownership and compelling ROI.
