Latest Version of Enterprise Security Solution for Unattended PCs Expands Windows Server Support, Improves Administration Controls and Enhances Security Features.
Citadel Security Software released NetOFF 7.6, the latest version of its enterprise security solution for unattended PCs. This latest release adds platform support, automated installation and administration functions and overall performance improvements.
NetOFF enables administrators to protect corporate systems and confidential data by automatically logging off unattended PCs safely and securely. NetOFF can be configured to log off the end user at any of the following events:
-- Inactivity logoff -- occurs when the maximum allowed time of inactivity on the computer has been reached.
-- Inactivity application shutdown -- occurs when the maximum allowed time of inactivity on an application has been reached.
-- Mandatory logoff -- occurs when time of day set for logoff has arrived.
-- Online logoff -- occurs when maximum login time has been reached.
-- Login time allowable -- occurs at login when the current time is in the range when login is disallowed.
For every logoff event, NetOFF saves and closes the user's open files and applications to protect against potential data loss.
New with NetOFF 7.6:
-- Expanded Platform Support -- Added support for Windows Server 2003 Enterprise and Standard editions.
-- Increased Administrative Control -- Automated installation process for the server and client components and automated client configuration simplifies set-up process.
-- Improved Performance -- New database coherency to keep server and client configurations in sync delivers improved performance for enterprise-environments.
-- Enhanced Security -- Improved lockdown capabilities, modifiable only by an authorized administrator, allows the client software to operate in a guarded mode.
"NetOFF offers centralized administrative control for automating security policies that prevent unauthorized access to PCs when employees leave their work areas or operate outside their authorized constraints," said Carl Banzhof, Chief Technology Officer for Citadel Security Software. "Due to recent government legislation and corporate mandates on privacy protection, NetOFF adds a critical layer of security for an enterprise that has 100 or 100,000 PCs."
