ArcSight 2.5 received top scores in Forrester Research's Security Management TechRankings. The Forrester analysis provides information for companies who are evaluating security information management solutions. ArcSight's high score in the TechRankings, along with an unbroken string of Editor's Choice awards over the last two years, is further evidence of its leadership and success in this rapidly expanding market.
ArcSight was especially noted for its Reliability and Scalability, which are critical issues for large-scale enterprise operations that employ hundreds, if not thousands, of security devices and solutions, all of which generate large quantities of vital security data. Forrester's research found that: "The product [ArcSight 2.5] has a solid architecture designed for very demanding environments, including geographically distributed security operations centers ... Each architectural component continually reports to other components on its availability and includes built-in failover protections." The September 2004 report, titled Scorecard Summary: ArcSight 2.5, adds that "Customers will find that the product's reliability and scalability will support larger, more complex deployments."
The Forrester report also acknowledges ArcSight's tremendous success in the past year: "The vendor's [ArcSight's] revenue growth has ranged from 400% to 1700% in the past four quarters."
"Our customers tell us that one of the key drivers behind their decision to buy ArcSight is its ability handle the size and complexity of their operations, even as their security needs expand and change," said Larry Lunetta, vice president of marketing and business development at ArcSight. "Scoring at the top of Forrester TechRankings is a continuation of the successful evaluations ArcSight has received over the past 2 years, which include the Network Computing Well-Connected Award and NetworkWorld's 'Best of the Tests' Security Management Award and Blue Ribbon Editor's Choice Award."
