Industry's Only Virtualized Security and System Analytics Solution Provides In-Depth Reporting for Inkra's Virtual Service Switches.

Inkra Networks and eIQnetworks announced a partnership in which eIQnetworks will provide enhanced security and bandwidth analysis, monitoring, and reporting capabilities for Inkra's Virtual Service Switches (VSSs). The partnership marks the interoperability of Inkra's VSS, the industry's leading virtualized networking and security solution, and the eIQnetworks FirewallAnalyzer Enterprise, the industry's only system analysis tool with the capability to monitor and report on individual virtualized applications.

FirewallAnalyzer Enterprise is the only vendor-neutral, centralized security event management solution to deliver real-time auditing and investigative analysis of virtualized network security devices. This provides the ability to monitor and report on Inkra's virtualized security services, which include multiple instances of firewalls, and intrusion detection and prevention (IDP) modules. With hundreds of specialized reports, FirewallAnalyzer Enterprise provides a centralized view of security across the enterprise, significantly reducing the complexity of security analysis and providing IT managers with insight into both external attacks as well as internal network users who are violating corporate policies.

"There is a trend toward defense-in-depth security strategies, and virtualization technology is enabling enterprises to cost-effectively adopt a comprehensive, integrated approach to security," said Vijay Basani, CEO of eIQnetworks. "eIQnetworks is the only solution on the market today that can provide detailed analysis of separate virtualized 'racks' of network services, making our partnership with Inkra a natural fit."

Inkra's virtualization technology enables IT managers to deploy multiple virtualized instances of firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection and prevention (IDP), SSL accelerators, and load balancing from a single device, thus replacing tens to hundreds of individual appliances and reducing capital expense by an order of magnitude. Inkra's Center Point management suite allows IT managers to provision, deploy, and manage all services from one console, significantly reducing the operational expenses associated with a large network security rollout. eIQnetworks' analysis solutions will supplement Inkra's Security Anomaly Index (SAI), which will continue to serve as the first-alert mechanism for network attacks.

"Virtualizing the security infrastructure drastically reduces the number of physical devices, and thus the complexity, of achieving true defense-in-depth," said Dave Roberts, co-founder and CTO of Inkra Networks. "eIQnetworks' solution adds a whole new layer of monitoring and reporting to Inkra's virtualized infrastructure, enhancing and simplifying the ongoing analysis of the enterprise security infrastructure."

As part of the partnership, Inkra will recommend the eIQnetworks FirewallAnalyzer Enterprise to its customer base.
