Secure Software announced the addition of two senior leaders to its executive team.
Jerry Brady joins the company as Vice President & Chief Security Advisor and Mike Devine joins as Chief Financial Officer.
Brady and Devine will play instrumental roles in Secure Software's growth, particularly as the company prepares to launch its latest product line and raise its next round of funding. Founded in 2001, Secure Software's technology automates the discovery of security flaws in software applications and provides the technology processes for developers and end-user companies to design and build security into their applications.
Art Marks, founder of Valhalla Partners, a venture funding firm in Northern Virginia that participated in Secure Software's $5.25 million of Series 'A' funding observed, "Jerry Brady and Mike Devine are exceptionally qualified to add unique and relevant experience. Secure Software proves once again that the strength of their team and their technology has attracted other very talented people."
Jerry Brady, Vice President & Chief Security Advisor
Jerry Brady joins the company as a 20-year veteran of information and security technology, with equal experience within large financial service enterprises and emerging start-ups. In his new position at Secure Software, Brady will play a key role in shaping the company's technology vision, product strategy and client-facing activities.
As a former Vice President and Enterprise Information Security Officer at Prudential Insurance Company, Brady managed the global information security program for one of the largest financial services firms in the world, having established and staffed the company's first Information Security Office. Brady also held similar security positions at Banker's Trust, J.P. Morgan, and Touche Ross.
Prior to joining Secure Software, Brady was the Chief Technology Officer/Chief Security Officer at Guardent, since acquired by Verisign, where he led the R&D and deployment of patented technologies, and customer acquisition.
Brady commented on his attraction to Secure Software, stating, "The paradigm has shifted - the missing link for most companies today is protecting their enterprise applications by having the end-to-end expertise to detect, analyze, remediate and prevent vulnerabilities in their software."
Citing today's security risks, Brady added, "Hacking and technology attacks have emerged as part of the professional criminal's arsenal, raising the stakes and requiring better security within these business process and proprietary systems. Since its inception, Secure Software has been far ahead of the pack in its approach to the tools and processes to address this enterprise need."
Mike Devine, Chief Financial Officer
Mike Devine brings 25 years of financial and consulting experience to Secure Software, where in his new role he will oversee the company's financial, accounting, and human resources systems and infrastructure.
Prior to joining Secure Software, Mike was a partner at Arthur Andersen and Deloitte & Touche, where his clients (including Best Software, Transaction Network Services, UUNET Technologies, Vastera, and Visual Networks), were emerging technology companies that progressed from start-up and financing, through rapid growth, IPO and beyond.
"This is a unique opportunity to join a pioneering company in a very hot growth sector. To their credit, Secure Software has built a great team of employees, management and investors. It's these ingredients that make me very excited to join the company," stated Devine.
Mike is a former member of the Board of Directors of The Northern Virginia Technology Council, the Mid-Atlantic Venture Association, and The Fairfax county Public Schools Education Foundation. He is currently a member of the Advisory Board of The Entrepreneur Center at NVTC. Mike is a CPA licensed in Virginia and Massachusetts.
