VigilantMinds today announced its newest security solution, BufferXone, a revolutionary Internet security solution that requires neither hardware nor software and deploys remotely within an hour.

BufferXone stops worms, directed hacking attempts and computer exploits, and reports on all suspicious and malicious network activity.

By stopping worms, viruses and malicious attacks from the Internet, BufferXone provides a multi-layered intrusion-free zone for enterprise information assets while improving network efficiency and reducing overall bandwidth requirements. Featuring Intrusion Prevention Services, Intrusion Detection Services, threat profiling, and early worm detection, BufferXone provides a "digital shield" that protects the business and thwarts "day zero" exploit threats. BufferXone also promotes business growth by providing a more secure network environment for e-commerce, and makes it easy for users to generate security status reports for compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley, HIPAA, GLBA and other information security and privacy regulations.

VigilantMinds will launch BufferXone in San Diego at Gartner's Midsize Enterprise Summit. The show runs from September 19-22, 2004. BufferXone's ease of use, affordability and scalability make it an ideal Internet-perimeter security solution for small and midsize businesses. BufferXone also provides high-speed deployment of a "digital shield" for large enterprises with remote offices or retail locations. VigilantMinds is promoting BufferXone in the US with plans to expand its reach globally by mid-2005.

"BufferXone proactively re-routes malicious or suspicious data sent to Internet-facing Web and mail servers such as Outlook Web Access (OWA) as well as many other applications that are exposed to un-trusted Internet users. Protected systems can neither be compromised, nor used to hack other computer systems. BufferXone does this without the use of software or hardware," said Dave Keener, VigilantMinds Chief Security Officer. "In addition to regulatory compliance and liability protection, BufferXone protects client networks from worms, directed and undirected attacks, denial of service and many other threats."

"With BufferXone, VigilantMinds has developed an industry changing solution. No other information security company offers a solution that is deployed using no hardware or software," said John Foley, VigilantMinds CEO. "BufferXone will allow security experts to become more efficient and effective because they will no longer be bogged down by the continuing lifecycle of device and software maintenance. This makes BufferXone next generation information security technology."
