McAfee To Protect Sharp Mebius Series Notebook PC

McAfee today announced an agreement with Sharp Co., Ltd. that will allow the two companies to provide McAfee VirusScan as a standard service installed on the new Sharp Mebius series notebook PC, unveiled by Sharp today.
Mebius users will also be invited to download trial versions of McAfee Personal Firewall Plus, McAfee SpamKiller and McAfee Privacy Service.
McAfee VirusScan is an easy-to-install, easy-to-use antivirus solution that helps protect the PC from viruses, worms, Trojans, spyware, web dialers, and other malicious threats that may enter the PC via email, instant messaging, Internet downloads and shared files. As PCs play a growing role in everyday life, users are demanding greater diversity in feature and function sets. To address this need, the new Mebius PC will offer a more robust PC environment courtesy of a stylish body, bright LCD screen, full range of audio-visual functions, and tighter security featuring McAfee security solutions. The McAfee VirusScan service will be installed as a standard service and offered as a trial for 90 days with full functionality and email-based customer and product support.

In addition to the McAfee VirusScan service that will be standard on the Mebius PCs, new Sharp customers can also download full-featured and fully functional 90-day trial versions of McAfee Personal Firewall Plus, McAfee Privacy Service and McAfee SpamKiller from the McAfee website. McAfee Personal Firewall Plus provides advanced protection for the PC and users' personal data. McAfee Privacy Service provides personal data protection and content filtering, while McAfee SpamKiller's advanced filtering technology quickly and easily helps to stop spam from polluting users' email inboxes.
McAfee re-entered the Japanese consumer market as a direct distributor of consumer products and services in September 2003, and has steadily expanded its market share since that time.
